Google is set to roll out three novel generative AI-powered features to its Chrome web browser, available for both Mac and Windows users. These include tab grouping, generative AI themes, and an enhanced writing tool. The objective behind these additions is to enhance the browsing experience by making it more seamless, secure, and personalized.

Joining the artificial intelligence wave, Google is incorporating three fresh generative AI-driven features into its Google Chrome web browser for both Mac and Windows. The aim is to simplify, secure, and enhance accessibility in web searching. In a blog post detailing the new features, Google stated, “We’re introducing experimental generative AI features to make it even easier and more efficient to browse — all while keeping your experience personalized to you.”

Google Chrome’s new 3 Gen AI features:

1) Group Tabs :

The latest addition automatically proposes and generates tab groups based on currently open tabs. To explore this feature, users can either right-click on a tab and choose ‘Organize similar tabs’ or directly click on the drop-down arrow beside the tab. Google highlights that this functionality proves particularly beneficial for users engaged in multitasking scenarios, such as planning a trip, researching a topic, and shopping concurrently.

2) Generative AI themes :

Google is extending the generative AI wallpaper feature, originally from Pixel 8, to the Chrome browser. This move aims to empower users to personalize their browsing experience through a text-to-image diffusion model. The updated tab organizer enables users to swiftly generate custom themes, considering mood, visual style, and selected colors. To utilize this feature, users can navigate to the Customize Chrome side panel, select “Change Theme,” and then click on “Create with AI.”

3) Makes writing easier:

Introduced at the I/O 2023 event last year, Google’s “Help Me Write” feature has been undergoing continuous expansion. Now, the Mountain View, California-based company is extending its functionality, enabling users to express their thoughts more effectively across all websites on the internet.

Mastering the new features: A step-by-step tutorial:

The recently introduced features will gradually roll out in Chrome on Mac and Windows in the coming days, beginning in the US. To access these additions, users can click on “Settings” in the three-dot menu and proceed to the “Experimental AI” page. It’s important to mention that these features are not available for Enterprise and Education accounts as they are in an experimental phase.
